Annulment of some regulations of Vietnam related to international road transport

The Minister of Transport of Vietnam promulgated Circular No. 05/2022/TT-BGTVT dated May 25, 2022 on annulment of some regulations related to issuance, reissuance and withdrawal of permits of the Circular on international road transport.

Some regulations prescribed in Circular No. 29/2009/TT-BGTVT guiding implementation of certain Articles of the Agreement on facilitation of cross-border transport of goods and people in Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) shall be annulled such as:

- Annulment of clause 4 of Article 4 on regulations for vehicles;

The annulled content: “A vehicle may stay within the territory of the host country within 30 days from the entry date. Each extension due to legitimate reasons (such as natural disasters, accidents, extended repairs) shall not exceed 10 days from the deadline for exit from Vietnam.”

- Annulment of Article 6 on issuance of international road transport permits for enterprises and cooperatives in Vietnam;

- Annulment of Article 7 on issuance of GMS road transport permits for vehicles;

- Annulment of the phrase “The distinguishing sign of Vietnam is provided in Annex 2 enclosed with this Circular” specified in clause 2 of Article 4; etc.
