According to the Circular, the environmental monitoring parameters for aquaculture prescribed in Clause 4 Article 9 of Circular No. 04/2016/TT-BNNPTNT are divided into groups: Group I (common environmental parameters); Group II (organic and nutritional parameters); Group III (microbiological parameters); Group IV (phytoplankton); Group V (plant protection drugs); Group VI (heavy metal); Others (organic pollutants).
Specifically, the groups of environmental monitoring parameters are as follows:
(i) Group I (common environmental parameters): pH, temperature, salinity/conductivity, alkalinity, clarity, TTS (suspended solids);
(ii) Group II (organic and nutritional parameters): DO, BOD5, COD, TOC, N-NH4, N-NO3, N-NO2, P-PO4, SO42-, S2-/H2S;
(iii) Group III (microbiological parameters): Coliform, E.coli, Vibrio spp., Aeromonas spp., and other agents causing diseases in aquatic animals;
(iv) Group IV (phytoplankton): algae, toxic algae, chlorophyll a;
(v) Group V (plant protection drugs): organochlorines, organophosphates, carbamates, synthetic pyrethroids, neonicotinoids, avermectins, herbicides, and total radioactivity a and b;
(vi) Group VI (heavy metal): Cu, Pb, Zn, Cd, As, Hg, Cr3+, Cr6+, Ni, Mn, Al, and total FE (Fets);
(vii) Others (organic pollutants): surfactants, oil, grease, phenol, CN.
See more details in Circular No. 12/2024/TT-BNNPTNT , effective as of December 12, 2024.
Programs, plans, schemes, and projects on prevention and control of diseases of aquatic animals, environmental monitoring, and environmental warnings in aquaculture approved by competent authorities before the effective date of Circular No. 12/2024/TT-BNNPTNT shall continue to be implemented.
