Vietnam to annul several regulations concerning plant quarantine in Circular No. 34/2018/TT-BNNPTNT

On April 1, 2024, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam promulgated Circular No. 03/2024/TT-BNNPTNT on annulling several regulations in Circular No. 34/2018/TT-BNNPTNT concerning plant quarantine.

According to the Circular, the following regulations in Circular No. 34/2018/TT-BNNPTNT shall be annulled:

- Clause 3 Article 1 of Circular No. 33/2014/TT-BNNPTNT on procedures for plant quarantine for import, export, transit, and post-import of articles subject to plant quarantine, amended by Clause 1 Article of Circular No. 34/2018/TT-BNNPTNT ;

- Article 7b and Appendix Ib of Circular No. 33/2014/TT-BNNPTNT , supplemented by Clause 3 Article 1 of Circular No. 34/2018/TT-BNNPTNT ;

- Article 18a and Article 18b of Circular No. 33/2014/TT-BNNPTNT , supplemented by Clause 4 Article 1 of Circular No. 34/2018/TT-BNNPTNT ;

- Article 2 of Circular No. 34/2018/TT-BNNPTNT .

Regarding applications for plant quarantine and state inspection of the quality of imported plant source animal and aquaculture feeds submitted before May 16, 2024, comply with Circular No. 34/2018/TT-BNNPTNT ;

Regarding applications for exemption from the state inspection of the quality of imported plant source animal and aquaculture feeds submitted before May 16, 2024, the Plant Protection Department of Vietnam shall continue to comply with the law on husbandry and fishery;

Regarding imported plant source animal and aquaculture feeds confirmed to be exempted from the state inspection of quality in writing by the Plant Protection Department of Vietnam, they shall continue to be exempted from the state inspection of quality according to the period prescribed in confirmation documents.

Circular No. 03/2024/TT-BNNPTNT comes into force as of May 16, 2024.
