According to the Law on Insurance Business 2022 of Vietnam, there are 5 types of Insurance Policies:
- Life insurance policy;
- Health insurance policy;
- Property insurance policy;
- Damage and loss insurance policy;
- Liability insurance policy.
Among them, property insurance policies, damage and loss insurance policies, and liability insurance policies are non-life insurance.
Therefore, compared to current regulations, the Types of Insurance Policies have been extended as the Law on Insurance Business 2000 of Vietnam only stipulates:
- Personal lines insurance policies;
- Property insurance policies;
- Civil liability insurance policies.
Maritime Insurance Policies shall comply with the Vietnam Maritime Code; contents that are not prescribed in the Vietnam Maritime Code shall follow regulations of the Law on Insurance Business 2022 of Vietnam.
The Law on Insurance Business 2022 of Vietnam comes into force as of January 1, 2023, except for Clause 3 Article 86, Clause 4 and Clause 5 Article 94, Article 95, Clause 3, and Clause 4 Article 99, Articles 109, 110, 111, 112, 113, 114, and 116 of the Law, which will come into force as of January 1, 2028.
